THE PUBLISHED CLAIM
Isaiah 28:10 warrants an incremental curriculum—precept upon precept, line upon line.
THE CORRECTED BOUNDARY
On the reading most commentators take, verses 9–10 are jeering speech mimicking the prophet.
THE CORRECTION · WHY THE CLAIM MOVED
Isaiah then turns the taunt into the sentence. The reading is not airtight—verse 13 attaches the phrase to “the word of the LORD”—but the verse is too contested to carry an argument, which is sufficient reason to decline it without calling anyone wrong.
