THE PROBLEM · CONFIDENT COMPRESSION
Nobody had to lie to you.
A claim can become false without beginning as a deception. A careful source becomes an illustration; the illustration becomes a memorable line; the line becomes an ancient fact. Each retelling removes the uncertainty until inherited confidence is mistaken for evidence.
The Open Record interrupts that drift. It does not ask readers to trust a polished conclusion because it sounds authoritative. It keeps the source trail, the limits, the correction, and the person who took responsibility for it close enough to inspect.

A reader should be able to understand the correction in one line, inspect its boundary in one page, and follow the substantive research path when the question requires it.
The entry
The precise boundary, affected locations, transmission path, sources, and supersession history.
The as-run report
The brief, reasoning, dead ends, machine-use disclosure, limitations, and named human editor.
TWO DISTINCT JUDGMENTS
Evidence is graded. The House then acts.
An evidence grade describes the support beneath a claim. A disposition records what the steward did with it. Neither is permitted to impersonate the other.
01 · EVIDENCE GRADES
Well attested
The claim is supported by direct, locatable primary evidence or strong converging scholarship.
Attested but contested
The claim has real support, but its meaning, reach, or use remains disputed.
Popular repetition only
The claim circulates widely, but the stated source or ancient definition has not been established.
02 · DISPOSITIONS
Retained
The claim survives the review as written.
Narrowed
The claim remains useful only within a more precise boundary.
Corrected
The published wording has been changed because the claim failed review.
Withdrawn
The claim should no longer be taught or used by the House.
THE STANDING RECORD
What changed, and why.
Every admissible correction receives a stable identifier. Semantic changes remain visible; maintenance and lawful redaction are marked rather than silently rewritten.

Corrected boundary 4QDeut-q does not preserve 32:8 at all. The variant rests on one manuscript.

The record does not open a door into the person.
Research submissions are held apart from Sanctuary entries, Keeper conversations, Inner Weather, and every practitioner record. Consent to one never unlocks the other.
Public attribution is opt-in, entry by entry. Anonymous publication is the default. Computation may help locate, compare, and test; it may not autonomously grade, dispose, redact, or publish a claim.
An as-run report is an audit trail. The underlying sources remain the evidence.
Human judgment retains jurisdiction.THE PRECEDENT
The first correction came from inside the House.
The method is credible only if it can correct material we love, language we wrote, and claims already embedded in practice.
